Our guest speaker, Rev. Catherine Bonin, the Happiness minister, is an experienced story teller and fabulous speaker. She continues the series: “Life, Love, and the Pursuit of Happiness according to the Boy, the Mole, the Fox, and the Horse” – a series based on a book by Charlie Mackesy. (Each week is independent.) Rev. Catherine encourages you to be more aware of the kindness that sits quietly beyond all things and to look for kindness in your life and out in the world. Ernest Holmes in “This Thing Called You” wrote:
“The mind must reach a place where it no longer remembers the past with anxiety or looks to the future with uncertainty. It focuses instead on the Divine Goodness, the loving kindness and the givingness of God.”

He encourages you to notice what qualities you admire in your friends, discusses how you can be authentically yourself in all your relationships, and reminds you to find ways to tell your friends you love them. He also speaks on the value of making new friends.

New Date for Fundraiser to be announced soon!
We are planning our annual fundraiser for an early Fall event, which, in the past, we did as a Harvest Dinner. But fear not! We will break bread together and have a feast prior to our live auction and give you plenty of time to bid on the silent auction items as well as the raffle items.
If you love this community even a smidgen as much as I do, please consider what you might like to donate to our fundraiser. We love services, such as massage, babysitting, a cooked meal, cleaning or any other skills you might donate. And, of course, we need items for the raffle and auctions.
If you know of any store owners who might be willing to donate to a non-profit, we can provide you information to validate their donation.

On Sunday, December 18 we had an In-person Interfaith service at Unity Baton Rouge which included both caroling and the Service. Revs. Larrye-Marie Heyl and Lura Lisa Wall with your CSL Singers and Jude Wilson had a message: “Embracing The Christ Within.” When we embrace the Christ within each of us, the essence of who we are, we discover the joy of this world in every moment. On September 25, 2022 we met at Unity Baton Rouge to celebrate our community being in existence for 10 years. There was time to celebrate and remember the 10 years past and talk about the 10 years to come. If you missed it, the service is available now.
